We need your help to continue our program of training and support to benefit 300+ farmers and their families in Sanje, Uganda

20 Farmers in Sanje Village, Central Region of Uganda, started the 3-month permEzone training in February 2019; the training included a full permaculture design curriculum and locally-appropriate, practical, hands-on guidance in regenerative farming practices.
Since they finished their training, all 20 of these lead farmers have spent the intervening months creating their model farms and building a network of 300+ farmers - engaging in their own process of community-building around regenerative farming and cooperative endeavor.

permEzone is changing lives:
  •  Training farmers in permaculture design and agro-ecological farming techniques
  •  Empowering  farmers to integrate traditional knowledge  with scientific understanding
  •  Supporting farmers in farmer-to-farmer extension to  share local best practices
  •  Implementing a mobile phone platform to provide additional long-term support
  •  Demonstrating that land restored to natural good health can support a strong local economy alongside healthy, functioning ecosystems.
Farmers are our greatest allies in resolving both social and environmental problems. 70% of the world’s food is grown on small farms. It’s important to keep soil, water, air, and farmers healthy by farming with nature in mind.

The farmers who participated in the first permEzone pilot in Asumbi in SW Kenya successfully completed their 2-year program earlier in 2020, and are still hard at work adjusting the designs for their model farms , and building their community networks. Our newsletter from August 2020 covers this pilot in detail.

With your help, local Permaculture organization Broadfield Enterprises Uganda (BEU) will will be able to complete their work with the farmers in Sanje, Central Region of Uganda, supporting the trained farmers as they continue to develop their model farms, and build communities of practice with 300 or more other farmers in their community to share knowledge and information. This final 3-month stage of the pilot is vital to consolidate BEU's work with these farmers, ensuring that the community structures are in place so that they continue working together to improve eco-social resilience for many years to come.

Help permEzone empower the Sanje community to create a strong local economy, meet their nutritional needs, and improve the health of the environment through eco-social resilience.

Please donate whatever you can and share this appeal as widely as possible.
Help us complete our work with the farmers in Sanje village...
