Support Farmers, Reverse Climate Change
DONATE NOW!
Our pilot programs in Kenya and Uganda are now demonstrating real impact, with the farmers seeing improved food security and incomes as they put their 3-month training in permaculture design into practice, create their model farms, and build collaborative networks with other farmers in their communities. See our regular Newsletters for the latest updates. Our first pilot in Kenya ended successfully early in 2020, and we are now raising funds for our 3rd pilot - also in Kenya, starting in February 2021 with the same team at C-MRA who delivered Phase 1.
The contributions you make now will help us continue this essential work, building our capacity to work with new communities of farmers who can participate and benefit from this program.

We started this pilot program in June 2017, and have made a great start turning theory into practice. Our approach of working with selected training centers in East Africa, where they already work with local farming communities, means that we can make the most of their experience in training and support that is adapted to the needs of local conditions and cultures.
So far we've raised funds to cover our first phase pilot program with the farmers in Asumbi, Kenya, which was successfully completed in 2020, and most of the costs of the second pilot, working with the farmers in Sanje, Uganda, which is on track to complete at the end of February 2021.
With your continuing support we can maintain this momentum, and expand the pilot and work in cooperation with additional centers in E. Africa, develop and support the cell-phone platform, and carry out the detailed program of Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) that will ensure that the pilot has a big impact.
Our MEL team of academics and development professionals are working together to monitor, evaluate and report on the program's impact. Feedback from the trainers, the farmers and their support workers will inform the continuous development of the program, and the creation of a knowledge-base and support-base for a subsequent roll-out of the service world-wide.
